Technology News: Land acquisition for bullet train completed.
The High Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) on Monday said it has completed 100 per cent land acquisition in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Dadar and Nagar Haveli for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad rail corridor.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnab while sharing the status of land acquisition said that 1389.49 hectares of land required for the project has been acquired. A high speed rail line is being built between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

NHSRCL said in a statement that all civil contracts for the project were awarded to Gujarat and Maharashtra. Out of this 120.4 km girder launching and 271 km pier casting work has been completed.

The construction of the station is also in various stages.

In Gujarat, HSR stations at Vapi, Belimora, Surat, Bharuch, Anand, Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati are in various stages of construction. The high-speed rail line is being built using Japan’s Shinkansen technology, and the project aims to provide high-frequency public transportation for the masses. The project has been funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from Japan with Rs. 88,000 crore financed with a soft loan.

The Rs 1.10 lakh crore project was expected to be completed by 2022, but has faced hurdles in land acquisition. The government aims to run the first phase of the bullet train between Surat and Belimora in south Gujarat by 2026.
